Metropolitan of Gaul gave antimensions to the clerics of the Western European Archdiocese who remained with the Phanar

The meeting with Metropolitan Emmanuel of Gaul, which took place on October 5 in Paris, was attended by laymen and priests – repressentatives of 20 parishes in France belonging to the Western European Archdiocese of parishes of the Russian tradition. This was reported by orthodoxie.com.

Among those present were several members of the Council of the Archdiocese, who undertook to organize the parishes that remained subordinate to Constantinople; also, as specified, some parishes in other European countries, especially in Great Britain, also intend to remain in the jurisdiction of the Phanar, as an alternative – to go to the Romanian or Serbian Churches.

Metropolitan Emmanuel told the audience that Patriarch Bartholomew was very concerned about the future of the parishes of the Russian tradition in Western Europe, and also reminded that the Archdiocese (with a still unclear purpose – ed.) was dissolved in Phanar in November 2018.

From the beginning of November, this minority of the Western European Archdiocese (which has already gone to the ROC) will decide the issues of the pastoral and legal functioning of the parishes. On the day of the meeting, the metropolitan of Gaul handed over to the clergy antimensions for the service of the liturgy.
