After the transfer of the parishes of the UOC-KP abroad to the Church of Constantinople, as the Tomos of the OCU demanded, more loyalists to the Kyiv Patriarchate were found out in Europe and in the countries of the former CIS than in the USA, Canada, Australia. This was reported on the page “World Diaspora of the UOC-KP” on Facebook, the authors of which called on Filaret`s diaspora to return to the UOC-KP.
“In Europe, with the former European Exarchate (more than 40 parishes of the UOC-KP), the following situation is: after the receiving of the tomos Orthodox Ukrainians, instead of the expected unity, were divided into 4 groups. 1. Those that came under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople through the jurisdiction of the Greek (Greek) Orthodox Church. 2. Those that came under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople through the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the diaspora centered in the United States. 3. Those who refused to submit to Constantinople, but did not remain in the Kyiv Patriarchate, instead, and despite the demands of the tomos wish to belong to the newly created OCU. 4. Those who remained loyal to the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate”, the message says, without specifying the quantitative ratio.
The authors of the publication noted that only on the territory of Russia, thanks to “Metropolitan” Ioasaf Shibaev, everyone remained in the UOC-KP.
“In other countries, particularly in the USA, Canada, Australia, where the vicariate of the UOC-KP existed, no one went anywhere, but there were no loyalists to the Kyiv Patriarchate. These parishes (about 19), having a negative experience with the UOC in the diaspora, subordinate to Constantinople, refused to follow the terms of the tomos, but they did not join the Greek Orthodox Church, obviously, for the sake of preserving at least in some kind of the Ukrainian identity. We call on all our brothers and sisters in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and other countries outside of Ukraine to return to their native church and unite around the UOC-KP”, as call on in Filaret`s structure.
